Getting Started With Stacks
How to organize your Tacks into collections that are useful, personal and easy to come back to.
Saving something is useful.
Knowing why you saved it is even better.
That’s what Stacks are for.
A Stack is your own collection of related Tacks. You decide what belongs together, what the Stack is called and what it means.
Start with something you actually want to collect
You don’t need to design the perfect organization system before you begin.
Start with a Stack you already know you’ll use.
For example:
Recipes I Actually Want to Make
is probably more useful than:
Food
And:
Old Houses With Fantastic Kitchens
might be more fun than:
Interiors
Specific Stacks are often easier to build — and more enjoyable to browse later.
Create your Stack
Open My Stacks and create a new Stack.
Give it a name that will make sense when you see it again later.
If you want, add a description to explain what belongs there.
That’s it. You’ve started.
Add Tacks as you go
When you find something you want to keep, add it to the Stack that fits.
You don’t need hundreds of Tacks.
A small Stack of genuinely good things is far more useful than a giant collection you never want to look through again.
Make Stacks for real parts of your life
Stacks can be inspirational:
Dream Garden
But they can also be practical:
Bathroom Renovation Ideas
Or personal:
Things That Make Me Laugh
Or oddly specific:
Tiny Shops With Wonderful Signs
There’s no official Tackologie way to organize your interests.
That’s the point.
Private or public?
Some Stacks are just for you.
Others may be worth sharing.
Keep a Stack private when it’s personal, unfinished or simply something you’re collecting for yourself.
Make it public when you’ve created a collection you’d enjoy showing someone else.
A public Stack can become a tiny curated corner of the web built around your particular eye.
One last tip
Don’t worry about creating the perfect Stack structure on day one.
Your interests will change.
Your collections will grow.
New Stacks will appear.
Old ones may stop making sense.
Your Tackologie should evolve with you.
