A little help for finding and keeping the good stuff.

A Tack is something you find and want to keep. Public Tacks can appear in Discover and always keep a meaningful link to their original source.

Discover is the public place to browse and search Tacks. There are no motion Tacks, and Tackologie is currently ad-free.

Sign in, choose Add Tack, and paste the original public page—not a bare image link. Choose one eligible still image, add a title or a little context if helpful, and save it.

A public Tack needs a usable still image and a working public source link. Titles and descriptions make a Tack easier to understand, but they are encouraged enrichment rather than a universal requirement.

When you use Tack it, that public tack is added to your Saved tacks. Your saved collection is tied to your signed-in account, so it is there when you return.

A Tack is one thing you discover or save. When you Tack a public discovery, it is saved in Saved Tacks and Tackologie immediately asks where you want to organize it.

A Stack is a collection of Tacks around an idea, project, interest, or plan. Choose one or more existing Stacks, or create a new Stack in the same picker. Closing the picker keeps the Tack in Saved Tacks, and you can reopen it from the Tack later to add or remove Stack placements.

No. Untacking removes it from your Saved tacks and also clears it from your Stacks. Removing it from one Stack only removes that one placement—it stays saved and can remain in other Stacks.

Neither action deletes the public tack for other people. Deleting a Stack likewise removes only your Stack and its placements, not the original tacks.

Some websites — particularly social platforms such as TikTok and Instagram — limit what other services can access from their pages.

You may be able to see a post perfectly well in your browser or app while Tackologie can't reliably access the image and source information it needs to make a proper Tack.

When that happens, we won't try to work around the site's restrictions or create a half-working Tack.

If we can't make a Tack that keeps its image, context and meaningful link back to the source, we'd rather tell you we can't Tack it.

The important thing isn't which website something comes from. It's whether Tackologie can access enough public information to create a useful, source-connected Tack.

If a supported page gives us what we need, it may be Tackable. If it doesn't, we'll let you know.

Tackologie is a still-image discovery experience. A video page may be Tackable when a usable static image and meaningful source context are available.

Tackologie does not autoplay or embed video in public Tacks. When a video page can be Tacked, its Tack uses a static image for discovery and keeps the link to the original page.

Some social and video platforms limit what Tackologie can reliably access. We do not bypass those restrictions or create broken, orphaned public Tacks.

Because we've all had the experience of finding the perfect image online and then discovering that it leads nowhere useful.

We're trying to build something better.

A public Tack should help you answer:

What is this? Where did it come from? And where can I go to learn more, make it, buy it, read it or see the original?

If we can't preserve that trail, it doesn't belong in public discovery.

Use a public page from the maker, publisher, shop, or creator that tells people what the image is about. Tackologie needs one clear JPEG, PNG, or WebP still from that page.

Every accepted Tack keeps a link back to its source.

A Tack needs the page where an image is explained—not the image, file, animation, or media link by itself.

Paste the original page from the maker, publisher, shop, or creator instead.

If a link loops through redirects or points somewhere Tackologie cannot safely follow, open the final original page and paste that address instead.

If a page was deleted or moved, find the original page from the publisher, maker, shop, or creator before trying again.

Some sites limit automated source reading even when you can see the page in your own browser. Tackologie does not bypass logins, paywalls, CAPTCHAs, robots rules, or access controls. That is a source-access limit, not a content rejection.

When that happens, open the public page in your browser and use the Tackologie browser extension to capture the visible still and source relationship for review.

The Tackologie browser extension lets you create a Tack while viewing a public webpage.

It is especially useful when a site limits automated source reading. Use the extension to choose a visible still, review the source information, and organize it into a Stack. Tackologie still checks the eligible image, source link, moderation, and duplicates before a public Tack appears.

Once the Chrome and Edge store listings are approved, this section should contain normal install buttons or links to those official listings.

Tacks stay still. A page needs one clear JPEG, PNG, or WebP image to become a Tack. Animated media and direct video files are not Tacks.

A Tack image should show the thing you are actually saving, not the website that happens to host it.

Tackologie does not allow website logos, brand marks, favicons, or generic site-identification graphics to be used as Tack images. Choose an image of the actual product, artwork, project, recipe, place, or other page content instead.

For an accepted Tack, Tackologie keeps a durable copy of the approved still image while preserving the original source link. If the original image later changes or disappears, the saved Tack image can still remain available.

Visit source always opens the original source URL. If that website later redirects, changes, or disappears, the destination or availability is up to that site.

Search looks for direct matches and useful related concepts across a Tack’s public title, description, topic, source details, and available image text. That helps a search such as “art” find an illustration even if the exact word is not the headline.

Discover shows public static-image Tacks with a working link back to their source. A page that lacks a defensible source/image relationship or an eligible still does not become public, so it will not appear in Discover or public search.

Trending is shown in a transparent beta order: recent additions first, then the published sample order.

Visit source takes you to the original page connected to that Tack. No dead ends. Every public Tack keeps a working link back to where it came from, so you can return to the recipe, product, artist, article, project, or original page.

The source is part of what makes a public Tack different from a detached repost. Helpful titles and descriptions are encouraged so people can understand what they are seeing.

Tackologie is currently ad-free. If ads are introduced later, they will never exceed 10% of the experience and will come only from a human-reviewed pool of quality advertisers.

Tackologie does not publish adult or sexual content, violent content, or real-world occult practice or promotion. Fantasy, folklore, mythology, fictional magic, and lighthearted seasonal supernatural imagery can be allowed when otherwise safe.

Sometimes moderation can make a mistake. If Tackologie declines a Tack, the signed-in creator can use the Appeal this decision action shown with that exact decision. An appeal does not publish or save the Tack.

You can add an optional explanation. We’ll review one pending appeal for that attempt and email a decision within 48 hours, so you do not need to Tack the item again.

Sign in to save tacks and organize them into Stacks. Your Saved tacks belong to your account; signing out does not delete them.

Use Sign Out in the site menu when you are finished.

On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password? and enter the email address you use for Tackologie. If an account exists, Tackologie sends reset instructions to that address.
