Your finds should stay connected to their source—not become a mystery.

Account information. When you create an account, Tackologie collects the name you provide, your email address, and password-authentication information so it can create and secure your account. Account records also include account identifiers, optional public alias, account role, and account-creation or verification details needed to operate the service.

Monthly newsletter. Newsletter signup is optional and does not create an account. We record your email address, consent and confirmation times, signup source, and consent wording version. Resend processes confirmation and newsletter delivery, subscription preferences, bounces, and complaints. We retain consent and suppression records to honor your choices. Unsubscribe through any newsletter or manage your monthly email preferences at /newsletter. The signup spam check uses Cloudflare Turnstile.

Tacks and source information. When you submit a Tack, Tackologie handles the source URL and any redirect or verified source URL, source domain and title, selected static-image URL and image file, image alt text, Tack title and description, source-context fields, moderation and verification information, and timestamps. The service may fetch and process the submitted source page and selected image to check the source, extract relevant page context, confirm that the image is an eligible static format, and create the Tack.

Your collections and submissions. We store your saves, Stacks/boards, board sections and placements, public-alias setting, and any text you submit with an appeal of a rejected Tack. If a password reset or an appeal receipt is requested, the relevant email address and reset or receipt details are used to deliver that message.

Private app feedback. If you send feedback, we store your chosen feedback type, message, account reference, submission time, and basic app and device context (platform, app version/build, OS version, device model, and app environment when available). You may optionally provide an email address for follow-up. Feedback is kept in our private administrative inbox to troubleshoot and improve Tackologie, and included in an internal weekly email delivered through Resend. It is not published as a review or community post.

Website usage data. Optional analytics helps us understand discovery, signup, saving, Stacks, membership, and how people find Tackologie. Collection is off unless you allow analytics. We use a pseudonymous identifier, a broad acquisition source, device category, short campaign codes, and—when available—the referring website's domain name. For consenting visitors, request location metadata provided by our website host is reduced to country and state/region before it is added to analytics. Successful account actions and verified membership payments, renewals, cancellations, failures, recoveries, and refunds are measured without sending your email address or payment details. Payment amounts are used only for membership revenue measurement.

We do not record sessions, automatically capture page content, or send private Stack names/content, unrestricted raw search text, full referring URLs, city, postal code, precise coordinates, full page URLs, or sensitive URL parameters to PostHog. Analytics identifiers and your preference use local storage only after your choice. You can change your choice using Privacy choices in the footer. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Declining analytics does not affect your account, saves, or membership. Consented analytics uses our US PostHog project; staff and sandbox activity are excluded from customer metrics. Necessary account and billing records are retained separately to operate the service, regardless of your analytics choice.

With separate marketing consent, Meta Pixel measures PageView visits on selected public pages to help us understand our ads. Meta receives the eligible page URL, permitted referrer, cookie identifiers, and standard browser/network information such as IP address. We do not provide names, email addresses, search text, or private Tack and Stack content. Automatic matching and automatic event collection are disabled. Sensitive pages and URLs are excluded. Meta is not loaded before consent. Use Privacy choices to reject marketing or withdraw permission for future events; this does not erase events already received by Meta. Analytics and marketing preferences are independent, and rejecting either does not affect browsing, signup, or saving.

With analytics consent, we also measure completed searches of the public Discover catalog to improve its content and relevance. We normalize case and whitespace and omit phrases that appear to contain personal or sensitive information before analytics storage. This filtering is imperfect; we do not claim searches are completely anonymous. No phrases are sent to PostHog. The owner-only report contains daily phrase aggregates retained for 90 days. Search phrases carry no names, email addresses, account IDs, or persistent person identifiers. Separate, temporary consent bindings and a random search identifier associate result opens and successful saves for up to 15 minutes; expired attribution is removed by scheduled cleanup. Private Saved Tacks and Stack searches, blocked searches, and failed searches are excluded. Withdrawal prevents subsequent collection and attribution; previously aggregated counts remain until expiry.

The extension acts only after you open it on the current tab. In version 0.2.9, supported YouTube videos use a URL-only handoff: the extension sends the video URL, video ID and handoff timing/identifiers to Tackologie without reading the YouTube page's title, description or images. Our server retrieves verified information through YouTube API Services. For ordinary websites, it reads that active page's URL, title, eligible static-image URLs and related page context so you can choose an image for a Tack. When you continue to Tackologie, the selected information is passed to Tackologie for source validation and Tack creation.

The extension does not request or collect browsing history, cookies, clipboard data, or Chrome identity permission. It does not run persistently across other tabs. It does not use remote code: the executable JavaScript is packaged with the extension, and the extension does not load or execute remotely hosted JavaScript, WebAssembly, or other executable logic.

The extension does not collect your Tackologie sign-in credentials or authentication session. If you continue to the website, normal website sign-in and account controls apply there.
